SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE

Elgin Polo is a Partner in the firm's Litigation Support and Business Valuation Practice. He joined Berenfeld Spritzer in 2002 as a consultant specializing in marital dispute resolution.

Mr. Polo is recognized as a court-appointed neutral forensic accountant in both Miami-Dade and Broward County courts, where he also has served as an expert witness in commercial disputes. His civil litigation experience includes:

  • Lost profits analysis
  • Business valuations
  • Settlement negotiations
  • Purchase or sale of a business
  • Shareholder disputes

Mr. Polo's specialty is in forensic accounting and valuation matters for high net worth matrimonial dissolution cases in South Florida and the Keys. He works with the separating parties and their attorneys to provide:

  • Income and expense evaluations
  • Asset and liability analysis
  • Property distribution
  • Alimony and child support computations
  • Client representation in mediations
  • Expert witness depositions

Mr. Polo and the Berenfeld Spritzer marital dissolution team are available to help family law attorneys develop case strategy, evaluate and respond to opposing valuation assessments, and prepare exhibits or displays for use in court presentations.

"Our focus is on the clients financial health after the divorce proceedings," observes Mr. Polo. "Forensic accounting and valuation are a huge part of that equation."

Mr. Polo also provides business and accounting guidance to small businesses in the areas of property management, real estate investments and professional services.

The South Florida Legal Guide recognizes Mr. Polo as a "Top CPA in Litigation Support."
